The Environment
Environmentalism is a core value to me. I’ve been ahead of the curve in protecting our environment in both my private and public life for over 30 years. It’s clear that our economy and environment are connected, and as a County Commissioner, I will continue to be ahead of the curve in formulating and successfully implementing polices that take a systemic approach to solving environmental challenges.
I have been a vegetarian for 25 years, and my wife Carol and I have been recycling long before there was a program in Raleigh. My two sons and I were all Eagle Scouts, and we have camped North Carolina from the Mountains to the Coast. In short, environmental issues have always been very personal to me, and will continue to be.
I recognize where policy meets reality. My record includes establishing a comprehensive planning process for Wake County, watershed protection, and the acquisition of open space.
Thank you for your time and consideration, and I would be honored to have your support.
